  66. INSTALLATION:
  67. =============
  68.     To install this game from the distribution diskette, simply 
  69.     copy the file "BACCARAT.ZIP" to the desired directory ("\BACCARAT" 
  70.     suggested) on your hard disk and unzip the file with the latest
  71.     version of PKUNZIP. 
  72.  
  73.     Next, run the program called BACCLOAD.EXE. This is a self-installing
  74.     packed file and running it will unpack and install all the needed 
  75.     files and programs. Once the self-install process is complete, the
  76.     files BACCLOAD.EXE and BACCARAT.ZIP can be removed. However, you 
  77.     should always retain copies of these files on diskette or tape 
  78.     just in case you need to reinstall them in the future. 
  79.  
  80.     If a message appears asking you whether or not you wish to replace
  81.     an existing file in the BACCARAT directory, answer with a "Y". DO
  82.     NOT USE    OLD FILES WITH A NEW VERSION - FATAL ERRORS WILL RESULT.

  84.     NOTE: After the installation process is complete, the install
  85.     program will try to run the game program automatically. This 
  86.     should be successful providing the install process was completed
  87.     and Windows could find a valid copy of the VBRUN300.DLL file in
  88.     the BACCARAT directory or in the common WINDOWS\SYSTEM directory. 
  89.  
  90.     To start the game manually, run the file BACCARAT.EXE from Windows
  91.     File Manager or click on the BACCARAT icon installed into the GAMES
  92.     Program Group (or the program group you selected).
  93.  
  94.     NOTE: Be sure you are running Windows Version 3.1 or higher and you
  95.     are running Windows in "386 Enhanced Mode" (not Standard Mode). Check
  96.     your \WINDOWS directory    and see if you have a WIN.BAT file. 
  97.  
  98.     Be sure the WIN.COM or WIN command in the batch file DOES NOT 
  99.     include the /S switch. This causes Windows to start in Standard
  100.     Mode. Be sure the command is followed by blanks or /E to insure 
  101.     you start in Enhanced Mode. Otherwise, this game may not operate
  102.     correctly. If you cannot see the 386 Enhanced Program Item 
  103.     (icon = computer chip) on the Windows Control Panel, then you 
  104.     are not running Windows in the Enhanced Mode. 
  105.  
  106.     Please see your Windows Users Manual for more information.
  107.  
  108.     Also, once you are running Windows in 386 Enhanced Mode, you should
  109.     set up as large a Permanent Swap File (not Temporary) as Windows 
  110.     will allow.
  111.  
  112.     This allows Windows to use free disk space as computer memory & it 
  113.     will allow you to run bigger programs. This is done from Windows 
  114.     Control Panel with the 386 Enhanced Icon.
  115.  
  116.     This program was written in Visual Basic V3.0 & REQUIRES the Visual 
  117.     Basic V3.0 Runtime Library file called VBRUN300.DLL (included). Be
  118.     sure this file is located in the same directory where you loaded &
  119.     unzipped BACCARAT.EXE.
  120.  
  121.     NOTE: Occasionally, Microsoft will release an updated VBRUN300.DLL
  122.     file which will correct some bugs in their runtime modules. You 
  123.     should periodically compare the date/time/size of this file to the
  124.     latest one available on CompuServe in the Microsoft MBASIC+ Forum. 
  125.     If a later one is released, please download it and place it in the 
  126.     BACCARAT directory. This game will use it automatically from then on.
  127.  
  128. ERRORS AT STARTUP:
  129. ==================
  130.     If you encounter either of the following two errors at startup:
  131.  
  132.         1) "OVERFLOW"
  133.         2) "Invalid Control Index"
  134.  
  135.     then the startup program files (BACCARAT.DEF and/or BACCARAT.SAV)
  136.     may be corrupted or may be the wrong version. Try renaming these
  137.     files to something else and restarting the program. The game will
  138.     then use its own internal game settings since it will not be able
  139.     to find these files. 
  140.  
  141.     You should first try renaming the BACCARAT.DEF and restarting the
  142.     game. 99% of the time this file is causing the problem.
  143.  
  144.     If you still have problems after trying this procedure, please
  145.     contact technical support or call our BBS to get the latest version.
  146.  
  147. Windows 95 Alert!
  148. =================
  149.     If you are using an S3 video board with Windows 95 and are running 
  150.     your computer with LARGE FONTS ON, you may experience strange problems 
  151.     with our games.    These problems will cause certain items on the screen
  152.     to NOT line up correctly. Change your system back to the normal SMALL 
  153.     FONTS mode.
